Facelift Procedure
There are four different types of face and/or neck lifts which vary based on your needs and goals.
Our surgeons carefully evaluate the anatomy of your face to determine what exactly has caused the signs of aging. We then create a custom-tailored facelift surgical plan that is largely architectural in design. It is as much an art as it is a science. The muscles of the face are safely tightened so that the facelift and/or neck lift will not only look better in the short term but will also last for years. The extent of the facelift procedure depends on your individual needs and desires.
Facelifts and neck lifts only affect the lower portion of the face. To create the most polished, balanced facelift results, you also might want to have eyelid surgery, a chin implant, a brow lift, Botox, dermal fillers, fat injections, or skin resurfacing. Some of our facelift patients decide to have a full facial rejuvenation so that both the upper and lower portions of the face can be improved at once. It is less costly to combine procedures – you have only one episode of anesthesia and one recovery period.
- Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty);
- Brow lift (or forehead lift) surgery;
- Skin resurfacing (chemical peels);
- Traditional facelift is characterized by an incision in the hairline;
- The surgeon will lift loose tissues in the cheek region, along a jawline;
- Limited incision facelift is characterized by a shorter incisions at the temples;
- Facelift is performed with other facial-rejuvenating procedures;
- Patient achieves a balanced, harmonious appearance of the entire face.
Even for those patients who do not choose to have full facial rejuvenation, we often suggest the addition of dermal fillers, Botox, or skin resurfacing after a facelift in order to improve the results.
Facial Rejuvenation
There are several different options for patients to rejuvenate the face. Often our patients would like to look younger or rested. Less invasive options to correct wrinkles that result from facial expression and moving the facial muscles include Botox injections to temporarily paralyze the muscles that create these wrinkles. If a patient has wrinkles at rest, this can be improved with fillers using Restylanz or Jumederm.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections – work by relaxing the muscles that pull the skin into wrinkles, removing or softening expression lines like crow’s feet and frown lines. They don’t numb the skin or the underlying tissue, making them a safe and simple treatment.
Eyelid Surgery – tightening upper eyelids and removing ‘bags’ from lower lids give a more youthful look and can dramatically improve the appearance of your eyes and face. An eye lift can open up the eye area, giving you a more youthful appearance.
Chemical Peeling is a rejuvenating procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to cause peeling of its upper layers. Depending on the depth of the peel it can remove freckles, brown blotches, scaly sunspots and even superficial wrinkles.
